Title: Background Music Keeps Playing After Switching Scenes in OBS

Hi everyone,

I'm having a strange audio issue in OBS Studio and would appreciate some help figuring out what's causing it.

I have a scene for my livestream starting screen with background music set to loop. The problem is that when I switch to a different scene, the music sometimes keeps playing even though the music source is not present in the new scene.

I can see this happening in the Audio Mixer: the music source's audio meter remains green, indicating that audio is still active. However, sometimes the meter turns gray and the music stops as expected. The behavior seems inconsistent, and I haven't figured out what triggers it.

As a workaround, I separated my audio sources into different tracks:

  • Track 1: Main livestream audio
  • Track 2: Game audio
  • Track 3: Microphone
  • Track 4: Background music
This has helped me manage my audio, but it doesn't solve the underlying issue. I want the background music to play only in the starting scene and stop automatically when I switch to another scene.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this be a configuration issue, a source playback problem, or a bug in OBS?

I'll also check the media source properties, including the "Close file when inactive" option, to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance for any help!
